Cute Overload! :)
Excuse me while I get serious for a moment on this wild Tumblr ride.  This image encapulsates the kind of perversion that gives me chills.  (especially since it is Japanese, and they have been making every attempt to eradicate whales)
I have been reading Cute Overload for a while now like the rest of the world, but still find it disturbing sometimes when the obsession with animals looking cute for us is juxtaposed to the reality of their treatment. On Thanksgiving they regularly post pictures of baby turkeys and make odd jokes about eating them, though I was relieved to see a few vegans responding with information about their cruelty-free holidays. It’s all fun and games at Cute Overload, but not for the countless animals that give their lives each day.
Actually it’s kind of funny, I haven’t spent that much time reading comments on Cute Overload - but in all respect, people seem to devolve into puddles of goo, as in the post of another image of a baby turkey in “honour” of Thanksgiving:

“GAH! I wub duckies!!!! I have duckies!!!! I wub duckies!!!!”

“Do my eyes deceive moi…*adjusts glasses*…or does this leetle duckie have visible CHEEKS? Cuze moi while i….*splode*”

And one Christine remarked:
“SO CUTE AND FLUFFY!(I’m so glad they’re not as cute once they’re grown up enough to eat…*hides from the vegetarians*)”
Heh. Yeah, as long as they’re not cute they’re okay to eat.  Anyway, as usual I find all of this interesting, and sad.
